de-caffeinated or not?

Well, it is after 2am and I figured out about an hour ago that I should have ordered my late afternoon cappuccino as "no caffeine" like I did yesterday.  I realize that 'de' might of meant 'with' or 'of' caffeine?
Either way, I am wide awake, it's dark out,  I am wired and just hand-washed some clothes.

I decided to clean a bit and then made myself a plate of small dark grapes that I bought at the farmer's market today. I also bought a piece of ricotta cheese. Now this is not your every day ricotta. It looks as though ricotta has been creamed and then dried in a big ball shape. It tastes divine and is dry, but not in a "I'm going to choke" kind of way. It tastes light and filling at the same time.

I am serving myself this delicious duo on a small white plate with dark blue flowers and green stems.
Bella!

Sometimes I put the radio on, so I can immerse in more language. (not too often as I want to soak in some silence) I am surprised how often american music is played. Two days ago, Ol' Blue eyes was singing "My life" and it was sweet as this reminds me of growing up in NY.

Angelo from the small market gave me a Umbertide guide pamphlet in English my first night here. He is very kind and always helpful.  I looked through it and tomorrow I go exploring. There is a church and a library I would like to find. The church looks like a longer haul. So far my fav birkenstocks have served me well (similar pairs are on sale here, so at least I have some style) but I am seriously thinking about wearing my sneakers.  I run every morning for about 30 minutes, so I brought them for that activity.

Who knows when I'll get to asleep. Running at 7a or 8a is going to a challenge. Oh well. No hard and fast rules on this sabbatical.  I am going with the flow.

I love the simplicity here.  Having to take care of only myself keeps things low key, I forgot how complicated my life usually is in VT.

Here I am not a role anymore, not a mother or friend or teacher or ex-wife or daughter or sister or even a neighbor.  I am just me and there is no need to edit what that entails. I am not even sure I am aware of how many levels I automatically edit myself on. Hmmm...that is great theme for this experience too.

I am going to read for a while. Maybe that will get me sleepy.

Whatever happens..."I'm in Italy!"

Life is good, no complaints from me.  :)

Yes, I will say "No caffeine" next time.  haha
