tomorrow, not today. I was close. :)
I walked around for over an hour and could not find that big shop that sold a lot of cheaper items made in China. It started to drizzle more so I open Marjorie's umbrella. That was a nice moment, thinking of her as I walked.
I ended up in a residential area, so I turned around and headed back...somewhere towards town.
As I admitted my frustration by exhaling loudly, there was the store, across the street and to the right. Eureka!
I was able to find a low priced bag with 2 wheels and a handle. Great!
I walked back on Via Roma (that's where I was) and headed home.
It felt like 1pm, but it was only 10:30a. Yikes but I was hungry. I ate some leftover sausage that I cooked last night and a handful of olives.
It's cold today. I can't believe the change in weather. Where am I...Vermont?
I look forward to a nap.
I am also beginning to think about leaving, thinking about how I will pack. Ewww I don't want to go there yet. I want to continue submerging in everything Italian and in Umbertide without any
interruptions.
OBSERVATION: When I walk around town I find myself walking slower and swaying more. It must be the Italian molecules that I am breathing in. That is probably why I wore a scarf today too.
Oh and I enjoyed the hell out of my cappuccino this morning. I drank it at the bar for the first time.
Here's is another part of my conversation with Karen yesterday (100% true).
Me: "I see a lot of Fiats (cars) here, I like them, they're so cute. I don't see many in America. What
country are they from?"
Karen: "Italy"
Me: "Oh" (gulp)
Admit it, I am one informed international conversationalist. :)
I saved myself later at the museum by pulling off the following:
1. Being able to speak intelligently about myth (story of Dionysus) while looking at a relief of him and,
2. When I used the word 'pagan' Karen asked me if I knew what the word meant and I said "Yes, it means country dweller," She was impressed. (that's what I tell myself anyway)
More later after nap time.
zzzzzzzz
