Foggy morning equals a slow start

Buongiorno,

I set my cell phone for 5:45am as I was planning on taking the 7am train.  It is very foggy this morning, reminds me of my hometown in VT, Newbury, which is very close to the Conn. River.

I am shooting for the 8:51am train.

I let myself lay in bed for quite a while this morning. Funny how I need permission.

I have received several kind emails about people enjoying the blog.  Molto gentile!!

For those who are having trouble leaving a comment, my email address is vtbuddha@yahoo.com.

I am in Umbertide, Italy for the person who asked, by the way.

I feel a sense of being lost this morning, I think it's the dark morning and mist everywhere. I have never been to London but this reminds me of one of those 1940's movies where the couple have to say goodbye at the train station as he is going off to the war.

It was very noisy here last night, about 8 people outside the windows cleaning and chatting from 9 to 11:30pm.  They were using some kind of heavy duty cleaner to wash the road. I was going to go out and ask them if they could stop as I have a genetic thingamajigy and I am supposed to stay away from all chemical. (My body can't process them well...who knew there was such a thing??!)

Anyway, I didn't.  I don't want to be a 'downer' to their celebration.  I closed the windows and just kept busy. After a while, the odor faded anyway.

I wrote to a friend of mine last night. I met her in one of the mythology courses I taught. She is 70 and is a sculptor. We started meeting for lunch in the beginning of the summer and we talk for hours.  It is as though time doesn't exist. She has been a gift to me as it is wonderful to have a friend who you feel doesn't NEED anything from you. We share a mutual admiration and respect for each other. Also we speak the same language, if you know what I mean.

This journey abroad has had all the markings of a hero's journey, in the best sense of that term.
Sometimes the universe opens doors and if you have the courage, you walk through them.  I have again and again.

When I have more time I will explain more.

Well, I am off to grab a cappuccino and then the train.

Exciting and nervous, but here I go.  Another threshold to cross.

Ciao, Patrizia
